Part dancer, part yogi, Jennie Pitts Knipe has taught creative movement, dance and yoga classes throughout the western states and abroad for over two decades. She earned her MFA in Dance from the University of Colorado, her BA in Dance & English Literature from the University of Oregon, and completed her yoga instructor training at the Shambhava Yoga Konalani Ashram (2004). Based in the Reno/Tahoe region, she passionately applies her skills as a teacher and dance maker to help others CONNECT . . . with their own bodies, with one another, with the environment, and with their limitless capacity to express and evolve from the heart.

Jennie has taught for University of Colorado, The International School of Music & Fine Arts, Prague, University of Nevada, Reno, Nevada Museum of Art, Sierra College, Truckee Meadows Community College, and Vancouver Public Schools. She currently teaches at O2 Yoga & Wellness, Trout Creek Recreation Center, and InnerRhythms Dance Center, as well as working with private clients.

Her choreography has been presented by Trails & Vistas, Downtown Dance Collective, Iowa State University, University of Nevada, Reno, The Dance Cartel, Wing and a Prayer Modern Dance Company, Nevada Shakespeare Company, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, University of Colorado, Reno's Artown, and Dance/Theatre Shannon.  Her creative work has received support from the Nevada Arts Council & Sierra Arts Foundation.

Jennie is constantly looking to cultivate joy, humor and healing in both her art and in her classroom. She is passionate about bringing people together through movement and open heartedness, in retreats and special events.
